Since birth, everyone has called me Rybo – a nickname given to me by my granddad. As a kid, I absolutely loved to draw and paint. I developed a deep love for classic graffiti of all things – bold letters, lots of color, tons of funky style.
That interest carried through my time in college at the University of South Carolina. I scribbled on everything I could get my hands on – notebooks, math tests, canvases, skate decks, etc. My dad encouraged me to paint my version of a palmetto tree, and the Rybo Palmetto was born.
I sold palmetto canvases and painted walls for the remainder of my time in college – enough to buy my then-girlfriend an engagement ring. Thirteen years and four kids later, I decided I needed more craziness in my life and started creating again!
I absolutely love the Carolina’s, and my goal is to bring a fresh take to southern icons.
Soli Deo Gloria!
